Concrete prep
and repair
Most coating failures start before the first coat goes down. Prep is where a floor is won or lost.
Concrete prep is the work that gets a slab ready for a coating: diamond grinding to open the surface, removing old paint or sealers, and repairing cracks, pits and spalls. Good prep gives the coating something to grab onto, which is the main defense against peeling and lifting.
Best for
- Peeling DIY or big-box kit coatings
- Cracked, pitted or spalled garages
- Painted or sealed concrete
- Slabs with oil stains
- Any new coating project
Straight talk
Every system has tradeoffs. Here is what we tell customers before they choose:
- Some cracks come from the ground moving. We can fill and coat them, but we will tell you if a crack may come back.
- Moisture coming up through the slab can cause coatings to lift. We check and may recommend a moisture-mitigating primer.
- Removing an old coating adds time and cost. Your estimate spells it out.
