Flake epoxy
garage floors
The classic garage floor, done right. Vinyl flakes are broadcast into the base coat until the floor is covered, then locked under a clear topcoat.
A flake (or chip) system is a resin floor where colored vinyl flakes are broadcast into a wet base coat, the loose flakes are scraped and vacuumed away, and one or more clear topcoats seal everything in. The flakes add texture, hide dirt and give a granite-like look.
Best for
- Two-car and three-car garages
- Workshops and hobby spaces
- Covered patios and lanais (with a UV-stable topcoat)
- Laundry rooms and mudrooms
- Light commercial back-of-house areas
Straight talk
Every system has tradeoffs. Here is what we tell customers before they choose:
- Flake size and coverage change the look a lot. We show you the real blend, not just a small chip on a card.
- Outdoor and sun-exposed areas need a UV-stable topcoat such as polyaspartic.
- Texture can be tuned. More texture means more grip but a little more work to mop.

How we install it
The flake / chip system process
Moisture and slab check
We confirm the slab is a good candidate and note any repairs.
Diamond grind
We grind the surface so the coating can bond, and fill cracks and pits.
Base coat
A tinted base coat goes down in sections.
Full flake broadcast
Flakes are broadcast until no base shows, then scraped and vacuumed.
Clear topcoat
A clear topcoat locks in the flakes and sets the final texture and gloss.
