Metallic epoxy
floors with depth

Swirled, marbled, three-dimensional. A metallic floor is worked by hand while it is wet, so no two come out the same.

What is metallic epoxy?

Metallic epoxy is a pigmented epoxy coating mixed with metallic (mica) powders. While it is still wet, the installer works and moves the material to create a marbled, three-dimensional look, then seals it with a clear topcoat.

Best for

  • Show garages and car collections
  • Home gyms and game rooms
  • Interior living spaces and lanais under roof
  • Salons, boutiques and showrooms
  • Offices and lobbies that need a statement floor

Straight talk

Every system has tradeoffs. Here is what we tell customers before they choose:

  • Darker metallics show dust and fine scratches more than a flake floor does.
  • A smooth metallic is slicker than a textured flake floor. An anti-slip additive can be added to the topcoat.
  • The pattern is hand made. We show real samples so you know the range before we pour.

How we install it

The metallic epoxy process

  1. Moisture and slab check

We check the concrete for moisture and damage before quoting a system.

  2. Diamond grind

Grinding opens the concrete so the coating can bond. Cracks and pits are filled.

  3. Primer and base color

A primer and tinted base set the depth of the finish.

  4. Metallic pour

The metallic coat is poured and worked by hand to build movement and depth.

  5. Clear topcoat

A clear topcoat protects the finish and adds gloss. Anti-slip can go in here.

FAQ

Metallic Epoxy questions

Can I choose my colors?
Yes. Metallic floors can be blended from several colors. At the estimate we show physical samples and photos of past pours so you can pick a direction you love.
Is a metallic floor good for a garage?
It can be. Metallic is popular in show garages. For a working garage with lots of grit and tools, a flake floor hides wear better. We will tell you which fits how you use the space.
Will every part of the floor look the same?
No, and that is the point. A metallic floor has movement and variation across the whole surface. If you want a uniform look, a solid color or flake system is a better match.
